Understanding the Trinity and their roles in our lives allows us to have a clearer vision of our way to salvation and transformation.

As Christians, we believe in God and how the gates of heaven will open for those who are saved from eternal damnation. We all walk on a spiritual journey of understanding the Trinity and being better people in a world of temptations and difficult challenges. Every day, we strive to follow God’s commandments and understand the Christian beliefs about Jesus.

In Yareni Beltran’s Building Bridges: Made in His Image, Yareni unveils her spiritual journey with Jesus in her life. It inspires readers to find their way to salvation and transformation. This book allows a stronger and closer relationship with God.

The Holy Trinity

As Christians, we have been taught about the Holy Trinity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each entity is God, but they are distinct from each other. The Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is not the Father. But these three are one in essence – God. Understanding the Trinity allows us to know how we can strengthen our faith and always know that God loves us.

God the Father

The Almighty Father is the first Person of the Holy Trinity, the omnipotent, omnipresent, the Great Creator, and the Father of the Most High. He brought all of us into this world and enjoyed His blessings. We worship His name above all. The scriptures are His words, giving us guidance to understanding the path to salvation.

God the Son

God the Son is the second Person of the Holy Trinity. The name refers to Jesus Christ, the Son of God. In the Christian belief, Jesus Christ is the human form of God. He was conceived by the immaculate Virgin Mary. Living a life with mere humans, Jesus walked the Earth, teaching the word of God the Father. He was sacrificed to save us all from the sins of the world.

God the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Holy Trinity. This entity is mostly represented by a white dove or a ray of light in the form of a dove. Omnipresent, the Holy Spirit gives comfort and counseling to a person as Jesus promised. The Holy Spirit is a person as He has mind, emotions, and will.

What is Jesus Christ’s Role?

As we are on our way to understanding the Trinity, we might be asking, “Who was Jesus, really?” We already know that Jesus is the human form of God. He lived as a normal person, a son of a virgin and a carpenter. Growing up, Jesus also lived a normal life. He also did his job as a carpenter and earned money to support His family. However, this work is not God. He fulfilled His mission of teaching the people the gospel.

Jesus is Our Savior

Understanding the Trinity in the bible, we all know that Jesus Christ, as a person, has a specific role. As the Son of God, He is the Messiah. His role is to save us from the eternal fires of hell by guiding us to the right path. In the Bible, Jesus also had a lot of challenges to walk through, including the people who wanted Him gone.

With His twelve apostles, Jesus taught and opened the eyes of people about salvation. The words of God allow people to be saved from eternal damnation. He was eventually captured by those threatened by His teachings – the Sanhedrin.

As a person, Jesus also feels guilt, pain, and suffering. He chose to give His life to become a bridge between humanity and God. His sacrifice allows us to have the chance to find our eternal peace and joy. He paid the price for our mortal sins.

Jesus is an Example

Another role of Jesus in our lives is being an example. Understanding the Trinity gives us enlightenment that Jesus walked among us to be the living example of how to serve God. With His pure intentions, He lived His life as a person who follows the will of the Lord. Being the personification of God, He builds a bridge for people to have a closer relationship with the Higher Power.

With this, we follow Jesus as an example of doing good. He lights our way as we walk our paths to salvation.

Lamb of God, Who Takes Away the Sins of the World

Understanding the Trinity allows us to know that Jesus is the lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world. In the Old Testament, lambs were used as sacrificial entities to symbolize as payment for the wrongdoings. The sacrificial lambs in the Old Testament foreshadowed Christ’s sacrifice to clear us from our mortal sins in this world.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Understanding the Trinity opens a window of learning that God is always with us. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three separate persons that are of one essence – God. Jesus, God the Son, was sent to save us all from the weight and grips of our mortal sins. Jesus is also an example of how we can live our lives following the word of God.
